Around 10:38 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 3200 block of Rex Street.

At the scene, officers heard an active disturbance. They forced entry into the residence where they encountered "a threat," according to the police report. Officers fired shots and the suspect was fatally wounded.

Police were unable to elaborate further on the threat, pending the ongoing investigation.

The suspect's identity has not been released at this time, but police did confirm that the person fatally shot was male.

The department says that the 10th Judicial District Critical Incident Team is investigating the case, which is the 6th officer-involved shooting in Pueblo City limits in 2019.
