Pueblo police investigating fatal hit and run

A 65-year-old man crossing in a crosswalk was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening, police say.

The incident occurred at 5:23 p.m. as a white, two-door vehicle was traveling northbound on Prairie Avenue, said Sgt. Shelley Taylor with the Pueblo Police Department.

The vehicle then fled the scene. Police say the suspect vehicle should have sustained damage to its front.
