Questions remain after 6 shot at house party in Fountain

20000 block of Longhorn Point in Fountain

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is working to identify suspects after six people were shot at a big house party in Fountain early Sunday morning.

Fountain Police said were called to a home in the 20,000 block of Longhorn Point around 2 in the morning Sunday. Officers said three adult victims with gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital.

Fountain Police handed the investigation over to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office since the neighborhood is technically in its jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, we're told three more adult victims drove themselves to the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, where they did not cooperate with detectives.

"When you've got a large party like that with many many witnesses, it takes a long time to interview all of them," Jacqueline Kirby with the sheriff's office told KRDO Monday. "We do not feel that there is a threat to the community. It was more of a targeted, specific event."

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office tip line at 719-520-6666.
