Colorado State Patrol investigating three-vehicle injury crash in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash that caused several serious injuries. It happened on Colorado 115 near milepost 36, south of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, in El Paso County. 

A release from State Patrol said a Toyota Sienna was driving southbound on Colorado 115 when a Ford F-350 in the left lane hit the rear driver’s side of the Sienna.

The Sienna turned sideways into the northbound lanes on Colorado 115 and crashed with a Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling northbound.

CSP said the driver of the Ford F-350, Jacob Otterstetter of Penrose, did not suffer any injuries and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Toyota Sienna, Amanda Henson of Cañon City, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. A passenger in her car suffered minor injuries. They were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder, Sarah Mills of Colorado Springs, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital for her injuries. Several passengers in the Nissan were hurt and taken to the hospital. They were all wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Colorado State Patrol troopers said alcohol and drug use is not considered a factor in the crash. Troopers are still investigating.

The Colorado State Patrol is asking for any witnesses of the crash to contact Trooper Thomas DeAntonio at (719) 544-2424.
