Investigators arrest man in Fountain with 35 pounds of meth, 10 pounds of heroin

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A monthslong investigation into a drug operation around Colorado Springs led police to one 42-year-old parolee living in Fountain who was caught with more than 40 pounds of hard drugs.

Daniel Valentine is facing multiple charges after being arrested last Wednesday, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. Police didn't say where Valentine was arrested.

Investigators busted Valentine with 34.87 pounds of methamphetamine, 9.66 pounds of heroin, and 1.5 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills, along with some cocaine, stolen guns, and nearly $37,000 in cash.

Police say the value of the drugs adds up to more than $762,000, not counting the fentanyl pills.

We're working on getting more information about what led to Valentine's arrest.
