Juvenile arrested in connection with alleged arson, burglaries at Catholic church in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) has arrested a juvenile in connection with an ongoing arson investigation and other incidents involving Christ the King Parish.

According to PPD, officers and members of the Pueblo Fire Department were sent to a reported fire on September 5 at Christ the King Parish on Horseshoe Drive. Fire investigators started an investigation, and determined the fire had been intentionally set.

PPD says during that investigation, detectives found other incidents involving church property, including allegedly tampering with security cameras in July, a burglary in September and another burglary in October.

PPD says that during its investigation, it identified a juvenile it believed was responsible for all three incidents. They then requested and received an arrest warrant for the suspect.

The juvenile was booked into the Pueblo Youth Center for the warrant for arson, along with another active arrest warrant from another county regarding an alleged auto theft.
