COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department says one person was arrested after allegedly stealing someone's car "by force."

According to CSPD, officers were sent to a robbery/motor vehicle theft around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday night in the 2800 block of Zeppelin Drive. Officers say they made contact with the victim who says a suspect took their car by force.

Officers say they began to check several different places for the car, a 2024 Ford Bronco, before it was found in the 1100 block of South Chelton Road around 11:15 p.m. CSPD says the suspect was still in the car.

As officers tried to contact the suspect, he ran on foot. Officers say they gave several warnings before a K9 was deployed and after making contact, the suspect was taken into custody.

23-year-old Tyler Dickinson was taken to a local hospital before being booked into the Criminal Justice Center. Dickinson is now facing charges of robbery, motor vehicle theft, violation of a protection order, obstruction a peace officer and driving under restraint.
