Four arrested after allegedly stealing over $1,000 in items, mostly laundry detergent, from Highlands Ranch store

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) says it arrested four people after they allegedly stole over $1,000 worth of items, mostly laundry detergent, from a Highlands Ranch store.

According to DCSO, deputies were sent to a theft in progress on Wednesday night, where an employee says several suspects ran from the store with over $1,000 in stolen merchandise. Deputies say they found the car, and four suspects ran into a nearby field.

DCSO says that using heat detection on their drones, they found and arrested four suspects, all of whom had addresses outside Douglas County. Officials also say three of the suspects had 13 active warrants altogether from other jurisdictions.

Photos from DCSO show the stolen merchandise was mostly laundry detergent, enough to fill two carts worth. DCSO says they now all face charges of theft, obstructing peace officers and their outstanding warrants.
