Police investigating three bank robberies across Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) confirms a string of bank robberies took place on Thursday afternoon within minutes of each other.

According to officials, CSPD received a call around noon on September 3 about a bank robbery in the 1100 block of North Circle Drive. Shortly after officers arrived on the scene, they say they learned a second bank robbery had occurred in the 500 block of North Circle Drive. CSPD says ten minutes later, a third bank robbery was reported in the 400 block of North Tejon Street.

CSPD says its robbery unit responded to all three locations and was being supported by additional units as well as the FBI.

According to officials, the investigation is ongoing but in the early stages.
