U.S. Marshals arrest four in Alamosa County operation

ALAMOSA, Colo. (KRDO) -- The U.S. Marshals Service Colorado Violent Offender Task Force makes four arrests, clears 19 warrants, and completes 28 sex offender compliance checks in Alamosa County during a two-day operation.

According to the U.S. Marshals, the operation, called Sand Dune, focused on locating and apprehending wanted fugitives, conducting sex offender compliance checks, and addressing outstanding warrants in the Alamosa community between Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.

The operation included other law enforcement partners from the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office, the Alamosa Police Department, the Fountain Police Department, the Trinidad Police Department, and the Huerfano County Sheriff's Office.

“Our partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service through the COVOTF has removed numerous violent offenders from our streets. Operation Sand Dune shows what local and federal agencies can achieve together.” said Chief of Police George Dingfelder of the Alamosa Police Department.
