Man arrested after allegedly chasing apartment resident with gun in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was arrested after police say he allegedly threatened another resident with a handgun during a confrontation at an apartment complex in Colorado Springs.

On Aug. 3, around 9 p.m., Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says officers responded to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Oxford Lane for reports of a disturbance involving a handgun.

According to officers, the victim said an argument with another resident escalated when the suspect threatened to assault him, then went to a nearby vehicle and retrieved a handgun.

The victim told police the suspect chased him through the apartment complex parking lot while displaying the weapon before eventually stopping and returning to a nearby apartment.

CSPD says the suspect was identified as a 29-year-old Isaiah Thompson, who was taken into custody after alledgly admitting to the confrontation but denying having a gun.

After a search warrant for the suspect's apartment was obtained, police say they found a gun that had been reported stolen out of Denver.

The suspect was arrested for felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, according to CSPD.
