Police investigating deadly shooting near Highway 24

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead early Thursday.

The shooting happened at the 7-Eleven convenience store on East Fountain Boulevard. That's near the Valley Hi Golf Course on Highway 24.

According to Colorado Springs Police they received a call for shots fired at 12:50 a.m. When
officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving measures by officers and medical staff, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Preliminarily information obtained on scene indicates that the suspect fired multiple shots in the parking lot of
the business, ultimately striking the victim, before fleeing the scene.

Police said no arrests have been made in this shooting.
