Gov. Elect Phil Weiser announces transition team

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Governor-elect Phil Weiser holds a press conference to announce his transition team.

Colorado attorney general Phil Weiser secured the vote last night. Weiser ran against Republican candidate Victor Marx.

Weiser swept the polls, securing over sixty percent of the votes. Now, the governor-elect says his goal is to get the best people into his cabinet, ahead of taking office.

"My instruction is to get the best people. Which means, if you're a republican, you're unaffiliated, you're a democrat, I want you to apply because we need the very best people we can get to build the leadership that colorado deserves."

The governor elect's nomination will take place in early January.
