CSPD recovers 5 guns, methamphetamine and $11,700 during search of alleged illegal gambling business

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police recovered five guns, more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and thousands of dollars in cash while executing a search warrant at an alleged illegal gambling establishment near North Academy Boulevard and San Miguel Street.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers began receiving Crime Stoppers tips from residents near an after-hours club in August 2026.

Patrol officers and Metro narcotics detectives say they spent several weeks conducting surveillance, proactive policing, undercover investigations and witness interviews. Investigators determined the business was allegedly involved in narcotics distribution and illegal gambling activities.

On Oct. 23, officers with CSPD's Stetson Hills Division, along with detectives from the Metro Division, K9 officers, the Real Time Crime Center and the Directed Area Response Team, executed a search warrant at the establishment.

When officers arrived, employees allegedly locked the front door and refused to let them inside. After several minutes of verbal communication, officers safely breached the door, allowing more than 25 patrons to exit the business.

During the search, officers recovered:

• Five firearms, including one reported stolen
• 53 grams of methamphetamine
• $11,700 in cash

CSPD said no injuries were reported during the incident. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
