1 killed after motorcycle crash in Cimarron Hills, CSP says

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A motorcycle rider was killed after crashing early Wednesday morning in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

CSP said the single-vehicle crash happened just before 3:45 a.m. at Terminal Avenue and Conrad Street near Colorado Springs. A deputy arrived to find the rider lying on the ground; he was pronounced dead on the scene, CSP said.

State Patrol said investigators believe the rider "came up to a hard right-hand turn and went through the end of the lane and collided with a large concrete barrier and the motorcycle rider was ejected."

He was identified as a 24-year-old man but CSP did not release his name, pending notification of next-of-kin.

CSP said the roads were closed for about three hours before they reopened later in the morning.
