New express pay option aims to reduce congestion at Denver International Airport

MGN

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Denver International Airport (DEN) says it is making it easier and faster to pay to park with a new Express Pay option.

According to the airport, the new payment parking option, Express Pay, will make it so that enrolled users don't have to stop to pay at the gate when entering and exiting DEN facilities.

Officials say Express Pay uses license plate recognition technology to identify cars and process payments electronically. The airport says the new system should reduce congestion at exit lanes and save time.

All drivers have to do is set up Express Pay in the app before they arrive or scan a QR code at DEN when they arrive. Then they drive in, park and drive out. A receipt will then be sent by text, according to officials. There is also an option for one-time or autopay for future visits to DEN.

Those who are interested can enroll through ParkWhiz or the ParkMobile app. More information is available on the airport's website.
