CSPD officer, driver uninjured after being involved in minor crash Wednesday night

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says an officer is uninjured after a traffic crash Wednesday night.

According to CSPD, an officer was heading towards the Police Operation Center on a call around 9:30 p.m. The officer was going east on Rio Grande Street through a green light at South Nevada Avenue when CSPD says a car going south failed to stop at a red light.

CSPD says the officer attempted to avoid a crash and swerved south, but was hit on the driver side bumper and quarter panel. They say there was minor damage to the car, but both cars were still driveable and no one was injured.

CSPD says the driver was cited for a red light violation.
