Man charged with meth possession, resisting arrest

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was arrested after allegedly resisting arrest during a traffic stop on South Nevada Avenue Tuesday night.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1000 block of South Nevada Avenue at around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Officers identified the driver as John Bartram and reportedly saw what appeared to be illegal drugs inside his vehicle.

Police said Bartram refused to get out of the vehicle when instructed, leading to a physical struggle. During the incident, CSPD says officers deployed Tasers multiple times before they were able to make an arrest.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident but remained on duty, according to CSPD.

Bartram was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest, CSPD confirmed.
