UPDATE: Officials say all roadways are back open as of 8:00 p.m.

BEULAH, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District is warning residents of flash flooding as heavy rain starts to hit the area of the "Aspen Acres" fire burn scar.

As of 6:15 p.m., officials say the road closure in the area was at Highway 78 and Ula Trail. It had previously been at Highway 78 and Squirrel Creek Road.

Highway 78 was briefly open over Beulah Hill, but had still been closed from Fox Lane to 12 Mile.

Officials say there is active flash flooding on Pine Drive and Cascade Avenue. They are asking residents to avoid the areas and be ready to evacuate if conditions change.

In Beulah, officials are recommending residents either stay home or get to high ground. They say if people can't get home, to park in a safe place like an established parking lot. They say to never drive through flooded roads and do not go around barricades.
