Water main break closes Delmonico Drive in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Delmonico Drive is down to one lane in both directions between Hawkeye Circle and Mesedge Drive due to a water main break.

Earlier, officials said Delmonico Drive was closed between Hawkeye Circle and Mesedge Drive, between West Rockrimmon and South Rockrimmon. The break happened at Hawkeye Circle and Delmonico Drive, which is between the two intersections where Delmonico crosses Rockrimmon Boulevard.

Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) told KRDO13 the closure was expected to last until later in the evening. CSU also said there may have been two different water mains broken but they are still assessing the damage, as well as the cause.

There is a detour for the area. Rockrimmon can be taken all the way around to the other side of Delmonico.

Officials ask that the area be avoided.
