Rockies become first MLB team since 1965 with four straight 100-loss seasons

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Rockies have reached an unwanted place in Major League Baseball history.

Colorado became the first MLB team since the 1962-65 New York Mets to lose at least 100 games in four consecutive seasons after falling 7-2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night at Coors Field.

The Rockies are now the fifth team in MLB history to record four straight 100-loss seasons, according to our Denver news partner, 9News.

The Rockies entered Tuesday's game at 57-99 and needed a win to avoid reaching 100 losses for the fourth straight season.

The Rockies have two games remaining in their series against the Diamondbacks before finishing the regular season with a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
