First snow begins to accumulate on Pikes Peak summit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- It's snowing at 14,000 feet!

Cameras from the top of Pikes Peak show the first snow of the year, with the temperature currently sitting at 33 degrees, according to the National Weather Service Pueblo.

Photos from city cameras show some snow accumulating and sitting at the top of the mountain both on the railway and around the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor's Center.

The Stormtracker13 team has been tracking cooler temperatures heading into the official start of fall, and it certainly seems that way up high! Colorado Springs will usually see its first freezing temperatures in just a couple of weeks, around the start of October.
