Historic aircraft on display during annual Pikes Peak Regional Airshow

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- This weekend, planes took to the skies again for the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow.

The event, which ran Saturday and Sunday, was located at the far end of the Colorado Springs Airport. During previous airshows, organizers say they have welcomed more than 30,000 people.

In addition to the demonstrations, visitors had a chance to see historic aircraft including Warbirds from the National Museum of WWII Aviation.

Unfortunately, Saturday's events were cut short due to weather, according to organizers. The show was cancelled for the day around 2 p.m. after being put on a weather delay.

But things were up and running on Sunday, starting with a sunrise photography stop featuring F/A-18 Super Hornets, organizers said.
