COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- First Tee says it plans to rebuild a children's golf center at the Valley Hi golf course that will cost $1.2 million.

The organization First Tee's location at the course will be dedicated to teaching children ages 3-18. The upgrades will include foundational and technological advancements, including two golf simulators, a multi-purpose room, and putting greens.

"We are really excited to have access to technology through the golf simulators to learn and practice their game," said CEO Sandy Johnson.

First Tee makes sure to combine the game of golf with skills kids are able to apply to life, like self-confidence and resilience.

"We focus on leadership and life skill development through the game of golf," Johnson said.

The facility will be open to people in the community and will provide opportunities for families, mentors, and individuals by offering clinics, tournaments, and events.

The 2,000-square-foot facility is expected to be done by spring 2027 at the earliest.
