Two men suspected in August shooting arrested in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two men wanted in connection with a shooting were arrested Thursday, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD said its Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force resumed efforts on Sept. 17 to locate Trayvon Bluitt, 19, and Zyon Bailey, 18, who both had active warrants for attempted murder, first-degree assault and aggravated robbery.

Police say the warrants stem from a shooting in the Sand Creek Division on Aug. 28. CSPD says detectives identified Bluitt and Bailey as suspects in the case.

During the search for the two men, investigators say they identified an apartment in the 2600 block of Partnership Point. According to police, detectives conducting surveillance contacted someone leaving the apartment, who confirmed Bluitt and Bailey were inside.

CSPD says detectives, assisted by the El Paso County Fugitive Impact Team and CSPD K-9 Officer Comstock, secured the area and asked the men to exit the apartment.

According to police, both men eventually came outside and were taken into custody safely and without incident.
