El Paso County, Colorado DMV expanding driver’s license services to four county branches

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office says it has worked with the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles to expand services at all four of their county locations.

According to the county, the following credentials can now be gained at county locations:

• Upgrading a state permit to a driver's license. Minors must still have required driving log documents.
• Getting a first Colorado ID card, with the required identification documents.
• Getting a learner's permit, with the required documents.

The county says that previously, these services were only available at state driver's license offices. Now, the county says customers will have more options when it comes to these services.

Services within county DMV branches are still on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis, according to officials. They say state offices will still require appointments.

The updated services are now available at the following locations:

• Citizens Service Center DMV Branch
  • 1675 West Garden of the Gods Road
• Powers DMV Branch
  • 5650 Industrial Place
• Union Town Center DMV Branch
  • 8830 North Union Boulevard
• Fort Carson DMV Branch
  • Building 1525, 6351 Wetzel Avenue
  • **Fort Carson instillation access requirements needed

The county says all four branches are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Union Town Center DMV Branch is also open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
