Over 507,000 people attend Colorado State Fair during 11-day run

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Fair says its attendance was up 18% compared to last year's fair.

According to fair officials, over 507,000 Coloradans attended the fair during its run from August 28 to September 7. They say the most attended day was Saturday, Sept. 5 when over 66,500 people went.

The fair says its events at the Big R Arena brought in over 31,000 people for events like PRCA rodeo competitions, demolition derby and concerts. Officials also say the Southwest Motors Events Center saw almost 9,500 people for its concerts, including Jordan Davis and the "I Love the 90s Tour."

Officials say the fair at the end of its 11 day run brought over 750 exhibitors that showed a total of 1,932 animals as part of livestock competitions. As part of that, over $515,000 was raised as part of the Colorado's Electric Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale, according to officials.

The Grand Champion Market Beef, raised in Weld County, sold for over $62,000.

There were also over 2,800 pieces of art submitted during the Fine Arts competition, which sold for a total of $10,414 across 47 artists.
