Shelter-in-place lifted at Colorado Springs apartment complex after woman found dead, CSPD says

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A shelter-in-place was lifted after law enforcement activity Monday night at a Colorado Springs apartment complex, police said.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, it happened at Creekside at Palmer Park Apartments near Space Center Drive and Palmer Park Boulevard.

The shelter-in-place came after officers were called to the area around 7 p.m. about someone firing shots into an apartment building during a domestic disturbance, CSPD said.

Police said they found the gunman when they got there and told her to drop her gun. Officers then heard a gunshot, which, according to police, did not come from them.

CSPD said the gunman died on scene from her injuries. It was not immediately clear if her wound was self-inflicted.
