PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Fire Department (PFD) is bringing back its "Fill the Boot" fundraiser to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

According to officials, the department started yesterday and will work through Labor Day at storefronts and intersections throughout their district to collect donations for the MDA.

PFD says the MDA has worked to help improve the lives of people suffering from muscular dystrophy, ALS and other neuromuscular diseases for the last 75 years. Since they started partnering with firefighters, officials say the MDA has raised more than $721 million through the MDA/International Association of Firefighters (IAFF).

Last year alone, local IAFF raised more than $10.7 million. More information on PFD's efforts for the campaign is available on their social media.
