Colorado Springs-based Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn set to compete on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs residents might recognize a familiar face taking on this year's "Dancing with the Stars" competition. U.S. Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn is trading out the ice rink for the ballroom.

The complete cast for Season 35 of "Dancing with the Stars" was announced today, September 2 and featured Glenn, who moved to Colorado Springs from her home in Texas to train at the Broadmoor World Arena back in 2022.

KRDO13 spoke with Glenn's coach, Damon Allen, who shared his excitement for Glenn being selected for this season.

Glenn and her partner, Pasha Pashkov, will join 15 other pairings of celebrities and professional ballroom dancers, all battling it out on the dance floor for the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Glenn is no stranger to winning. She took home the gold in the team event at this year’s Winter Olympics.

Glenn is also a three-time US National Champion and took first in the Grand Prix Final for women’s singles in 2024.

"This may change her course for the Grand Prix season, but the plans are to showcase her new programs at some point this season," Allen said.

Back in June, Glenn was one of the grand marshals for the Pikes Peak Pride Parade in Colorado Springs.

"We need to get everyone out there to vote for her and keep her in this amazing competition of amazing stars," Allen said.

Tune in to the two-night season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars" starting on September 15th on KRDO.
