Colorado Springs police investigate Sunday night shooting at car meet in Memorial Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says a person was shot during a car meet in Memorial Park Sunday evening.

According to officials, CSPD officers were working an assignment for a community gathering and car meet around 8:50 p.m. on Sunday when they heard gunshots coming from the group. Officers located a male victim who had been shot in the chest and right arm.

CSPD says officers offered first aid, and the victim was later transported to a hospital. He is now in stable condition. According to CSPD, the suspect fled and wasn't located, but they believe he was known to the victim.
