Colorado Springs Police Department’s K9 Koa has received gift of body armor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) announces that K9 Koa will receive a bullet and stab protective vest from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9S, Inc.

CSPD says Shána Leeper sponsored the vest, and it will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Beverly McIllwain”. 

The non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9S, Inc. was established in 2009 and provides vests and other assistance to law enforcement dogs, CSPD says.
