Victim drives suspect from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs in alleged kidnapping situation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a kidnapping around 7:45 p.m. on August 20 near Audubon Elementary School on East Van Buren Street.

According to CSPD, the male victim got off work in Castle Rock. As the victim was sitting in his car before driving away from work, he was approached by the suspect, who walked up to his car.

Police say the suspect entered the victim's car and sat in the front passenger seat.

The suspect indicated he had a gun by holding an object in his jacket pocket and told the victim to drive him to Colorado Springs, according to CSPD.

The suspect directed the victim to an area near East Van Buren Street, where the suspect exited the car and walked away on foot, police say.

CSPD says they searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. The victim was not injured.

CSPD says the Castle Rock Police Department (CRPD) potentially identified the suspect and is continuing the investigation.
