Car crashes into Colorado Springs Dairy Queen on Fillmore Street

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) confirms that a car crashed into the Dairy Queen on Fillmore Street around 2:11 p.m. on Aug.19.

Police say an initial investigation found that the driver confused the gas and brake pedal, causing them to hit the building. One passenger was in the vehicle, according to CSPD.

The driver reported minor pain, while two people inside the Dairy Queen also sustained minor injuries. No one was transported to the hospital, says police.

Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash, according to the initial investigation.

CSPD says the Dairy Queen location is closed for now.
