Ground stop issued at Denver International Airport due to thunderstorms

UPDATE: The FAA has extended the ground stop to 6:30 p.m.

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground stop at Denver International Airport due to thunderstorms.

The FAA says weather and thunderstorms was causing delays of around 104 minutes before the ground stop was issued.

A ground delay has been issued at the airport until 11:59 p.m. There is also an arrival delay around 30 minutes, according to the FAA.

The ground stop was issued at 3:25 p.m. and will run until 5:30 p.m., according to the FAA.
