The livestream has ended. A recording will be added shortly.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) will operate under a Secure Status on Friday, Aug. 14, after the college received a threat considered to be of high concern.

PPSC confirms that under the Secure Status, all PPSC campuses will remain open for faculty and staff, but all campus doors will be locked, and only faculty and staff will be allowed on campus. Faculty and staff may also choose to work remotely.

The threat is under active investigation, and officers are working with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, according to officials.

The college said the Secure Status will provide law enforcement partners additional time to investigate the threat. Students, faculty and staff may also see an increased law enforcement presence on PPSC campuses in the coming days.

PPSC said normal operations are expected to resume Saturday, Aug. 15, unless circumstances change. The college said it will notify the campus community of any updates.

Anyone with information about threats made against PPSC is asked to contact PPSC Police at 719-502-2900.

PPSC is reminding the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, whether in person or online.
