Colorado announces minimum wage increases for 2027

STATEWIDE, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced that Colorado's minimum wage will increase in 2027.

According to officials, the minimum wage will increase to $15.71 per hour next year. For tipped workers, it will increase to $12.69. CDLE says that is a 3.6% increase from the current minimum wage and up by over 40% from 2019.

In 2026, the minimum wage was $15.16 in Colorado.

Minimum wage is adjusted for inflation every year in the state of Colorado and uses the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, according to CDLE.

Officials noted the city and county of Denver use a measure that is more specific for urban households whose main income comes from hourly wages or clerical work. Denver's local minimum wage will be $19.84 for 2027. CDLE says local ordinances will set other localities' minimum wages.
