Two hikers rescued from Devils Playground Trail in Teller County

TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Teller County Search and Rescue reports that two hikers were rescued from the Devils Playground Trail on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Officials say they were called to the trail to help a hiker down, and not long after, they were called again to help a separate hiker in need.

Teller County Search and Rescue says in both cases the groups made the right decision in calling for help early while the sun was still out.

Officials encourage hikers not to wait to call for help, saying that searching for hikers indeed becomes significantly harder when it's dark.

Both hikers made it off the mountain safely, according to Teller County Search and Rescue.
