Law enforcement confirms Skyline Drive was temporarily closed after discovery of remains

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fremont County Sheriff's Office confirms that Skyline Drive in Canon City was temporarily closed after hikers discovered what appeared to be human remains.

According to officials, the discovery occurred on July 19 around 9 p.m., and the drive was temporarily closed as deputies and the Fremont County Coroner recovered the remains.

Fremont County Sheriff's Office says the investigation remains active.
