El Paso County Sheriff’s Office investigating suspected homicide in Cimarron Hills

UPDATE: The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim on July 13 as 39-year-old Michael Fell.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) says they are responding to a suspected homicide in the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way in the Cimarron Hills area.

According to officials, several calls were made around 1 a.m. regarding a possible burglary. Officials say four masked people had broken into the home and stolen things from the victim before feeling the scene.

Deputies responded and found one person shot. Life-saving efforts were made by both the EPSO and local fire officials, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

EPSO says officials are on the scene and investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the EPSO's non-emergency line.
