Colorado Springs Fire Department responding to grass fire in Cheyenne Mountain State Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is responding to a grass fire in Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

According to officials, additional resources are coming from the Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Base.

Traffic is being impacted going southbound on I-115 south of Nelson Boulevard, according to CSFD.

CSFD says a drone has located the fire and officials are working on leading crews towards the fire. Officials say the fire is closest to Pine Oaks Road and Pine Oaks Lane.

According to officials, the fire is slow-moving and callers reported lightning in the area before they saw smoke.
