Record heat on Wednesday with cooler air returning on Thursday, weekend storm chances

Tonight, temperatures will slowly cool off in the evening hours after highs in the upper 90s in the Pikes Peak Region and lower 100s out on the Eastern Plains. We will see a breezy evening as a cold front comes through late in the evening with much cooler air. We will see highs down into the low to mid 50s for most areas along the I-25 Corridor and upper 40s for some of the communities in the high country.

Expect much cooler temperatures on Thursday with highs in the low to mid 80s for most of Southern Colorado. We will have a breezy afternoon with southeast winds at around 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Temperatures warm up on Juneteenth, with highs in the upper 80s and mostly sunny skies. We have just a slight chance of an afternoon shower or storms.

Sunday will bring us a better chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. We will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
