Cheyenne Mountain State Park accepting Christmas trees to be recycled

MGN

COLORADO SPRING, Colo. (KRDO) - If you're in Colorado Springs and don't know what to do with your Christmas tree now that the holiday season is coming to an end, Cheyenne Mountain State Park can help.

Starting today, Friday, Dec. 29, you can take your Christmas tree to the visitor center parking lot located at 410 JL Ranch Heights.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said some trees will be turned into mulch and others will be used to make fish habitat in area lakes.

CPW said only real trees will be accepted. All decorations, wires, and nails should be removed from trees before donating them. A $5 donation per tree is also suggested.
