4 adults found dead after overnight shooting in rural El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) responded to an overnight shooting on Akawi Way in the Peyton area on December 7, 2023.

According to reports, there is no current threat to the public. The scene is still in progress and investigators are working to find more information.

The sheriff's office reported Thursday afternoon that four adults were found deceased at the residence.

A family has confirmed to KRDO13 that Debray Scott is one of the victims involved.

One family member, Anthony Ramsey, says Debray was his younger half-brother, explained "there's not enough" he could say about him. He described him as a kind hearted, caring and loving person, who was a beloved uncle to his three kids, and beloved member of their large family.

Ramsey says Scott was a resident of Colorado Springs, who was visiting a friend at an Akawi Way home where the shooting ultimately took place. He added Scott was an employee of UC Health Memorial hospital, and a former graduate of Pikes Peak State College, as well as Sierra High School.

Coroner trucks are scene as the investigation continues, and the Coroners office tells KRDO13 that they will have official confirmation of the victims' bodies by Friday, December 8, at the earliest.

Officers ask that community members stay clear of the area and allow their units to work.

This is an ongoing investigation that will be updated when more information is released.
