Pre-evacuation orders lifted for St Charles Fire; 99% containment reached
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Custer County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) announced the pre-evacuation orders for the San Isabel area and the Aspen Acres, Simonson Meadows, and Terra J Neighborhoods have been lifted.
According to the CCSO, the stage 1 fire restrictions have also been lifted.
On the morning of Oct 30, the St Charles Fire was reported at 459 acres and 23% containment. The Incident Management Team says that the snow the area received helped slow the fire's growth.
Later Monday evening, authorities reported that crews had reached 99% containment.
