Pueblo West man arrested in connection to June shooting of juvenile on ATV

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) -- A 63-year-old Pueblo West man has been arrested in connection to a June shooting of a juvenile who was riding an ATV in Pueblo West.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) said detectives investigated the incident and determined that John Kosovich was responsible for the shooting that occurred on June 18, 2023.

The PCSO said the victim was riding an ATV on property near the area of Plattlevill Blvd. and Littleton Dr. in Pueblo West when they were shot. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a Denver hospital for treatment. The victim is alive but still recovering from the injuries.

The PCSO did not say if the property where the ATVs were being ridden was owned by Kosovich.

Kosovich has been charged with second-degree assault and felony menacing. He was taken into custody on Monday, Sept. 25.
