UCHealth partners with football coach Deion Sanders for statewide Ready. Set. CO challenge
AURORA, Colo. (KRDO)-- UCHealth is partnering with University of Colorado’s head football coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders to lead Ready. Set. CO–a statewide challenge to reclaim Colorado’s rightful place as the healthiest state in the nation.
Coach Prime will assume the role as the Chief Motivation Officer in the statewide challenge.
According to UCHealth, dozens of local and national brands are already on board to support the initiative.
“For years, Colorado was widely considered one of the healthiest states, but according to the United Health Foundation, we’ve recently slipped to 10th place,” said Manny Rodriguez, UCHealth’s chief marketing, innovation and experience officer. “UCHealth launched Ready. Set. CO to inspire Coloradans to once again prioritize health and we are thrilled Coach Prime is on board to lead this effort.”
UCHealth and Coach Prime filmed a series of motivational videos to inspire the community to join the Ready. Set. CO challenge.

The Ready. Set. CO website also contains a full list of partners and a variety of resources that are available to help Coloradoans improve fitness, nutrition, mental health and well-being.
“To be healthy in all ways – mind, body and spirit – you’ve got to be disciplined,” Coach Prime said. “Being tough physically and mentally isn’t just important on the football field, it’s important to be successful in our everyday lives.”
