Monarch Mountain closes ski slopes for the day ‘due to extremely high winds’

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Monarch Mountain ski resort closed operations Sunday due to “extremely high winds.”

According to a Monarch Mountain spokesperson, the ski resort is “doing this on the side of caution as we consider the safety of our guests and employees."

Monarch Mountain will reopen Monday at 9:00 a.m.
