COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A tiny kitten is safe thanks to Animal Law Enforcement (ALE) officers with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR).

According to the HSPPR, the kitten got trapped while searching for food in the hole of a metal dumpster. The kitten, named Addy, was seen by a good samaritan who ended up calling the ALE team for help.

The HSPPR said Officers Davila and Barrett responded and managed to free her after an hour of hard work and lots of soap.

Addy is only a few weeks old and suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Once at the shelter, she was given a warm oatmeal bath and a quiet place to recover.

After a few days of care, the HSPPR said Addy is much healthier and happier than when she arrived. She has since been adopted!
