Police search for suspect in armed robbery of Colorado Springs Family Dollar store

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department is searching for a man accused of robbing a Family Dollar twice in three days.

On Aug. 6, 2022, police say the suspect took items from the Family Dollar at 3770 Airport Rd. without paying.

The suspect returned to the same store on Aug. 8 shortly before closing. According to police, the man held an employee at gunpoint and demanded money from the register. Police say he managed to take an undisclosed amount of cash.

The CSPD Robbery Unit has since taken over the investigation and is now asking the public for help identifying the man.

The suspect is described as a man, 20 to 30 years old, 5'6" - 5'10", and between 140 lbs. and 160 lbs.
